This program will explore the ins and outs of the use of biomass as fuel for heating systems. The session will explore some of the fundamentals including fuel types and considerations, fuel delivery and storage prior to looking at sizing and design criteria, as well as different boiler technologies. The speaker will review some of the recent code and standard changes along with available incentives to pursue this technology.

Andreas is the Biomass and Commercial System Manager for Viessmann Canada. Appointed to this role in 2010, Andreas is responsible for the overall strategic direction for Commercial Biomass Systems, and manages customer support services for pre-sale of Biomass and commercial products. Prior to joining Viessmann, Andrea held a variety of positions within sales and engineering with Baxi Group in Germany and North America Andreas is a Certified Engineering Technologist, HVAC Mechanic/ Master and a Certified Heating & Plumbing Technician.
